John McCain plays an instrumental version of “God Bless America”. To warm up the crowd, his advance team mixes John Phillip Sousa marches with John Williams fanfares.
After campaign rallies, it’s Chuck Berry’s Johnny Be Goode. It’s not clear whether McCain himself is happy with the choice of songs. “I wish they’d play Abba,” he said.
Oh I bet you think we’d want to spin Dancing Queen over in the pink elephant room, but no, we have another favorite:
